Antibody-mediated suppression of grafted lymphoma. IV. Influence of time of tumor residency in vivo and tumor size upon the effectiveness of suppression by syngeneic antibody

چکیده
In the suppression of the growth of a mouse lymphoma 6C3HED by antibody, the effectiveness of antibody in suppressing growing or established tumor cells and comparable number of freshly injected tumor cells is quantitatively similar. The effectiveness of antibody diminishes markedly when the number of tumor cells per mouse reaches the level of 10(6) due to the development of a macrophage shortage. At the 10(5) tumor cells level, antibody-mediated suppression takes place in an optimal manner and between 10(5) and 10(4) tumor cell numbers, the amount of antibody required to suppress 50% of the tumor cells is directly proportional to the number of tumor cells suppressed.

Antibody-mediated suppression of lymphoma: participation of platelets, lymphocytes, and nonphagocytic macrophages.
Humoral antibody directed against a grafted murine lymphoma can suppress the growth of the tumor in mice of the inbred strain native to the tumor. Antibody, however, cannot suppress the tumor growth in mice given 500 R of whole-body irradiation. When the tumor-antibody inoculum is admixed with lymphocytes or macrophages obtained from peritoneal exudate, macrophages experimentally rendered nonph...
متن کاملEffects of Enoxaparin Emulsion on Dimethylbenzanthracene-induced Breast Cancer in Female Rats
Background : Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant medication. Anticoagulation inhibits tumor cell–mediated release of angiogenic proteins and diminishes angiogenic response. Angiogenesis is an important event in various cancers such as breast cancer. Angiogenesis provide oxygen and nutrients to tumor cells and causes tumor progression. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the anti-angio...
متن کاملAntibody-mediated Suppression of Grafted Lymphoma Cells
Specific alloantibody admixed with a grafted murine lymphoma is suppressive of the graft in mice of the inbred strain native to the tumor. Suppressive capacity of the host is obviated in mice given 500 R whole body irradiation before tumor inoculation but is restored when normal peritoneal macrophages are admixed with the tumor-antibody inoculum. Other normal cell types admixed with the tumor-a...
متن کاملPolyclonal Antibody against Different Extracellular Subdomains of HER2 Induces Tumor Growth Inhibition in vitro
Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) has a crucial role in several malignancies. The extracellular domain of HER2 (HER2-ECD) has been extensively employed as an important target in passive and active immunotherapy. Isolated recombinant prokaryotic HER2-ECD subdomains were previously found to be ineffective in inducing anti-tumor antibody response. Objective: To employ rec...

Monoclonal antibodies were produced against MM46, an MM antigen-positive, ascitic mouse mammary tumor of C3H/He mice, and 14 clones were found to produce antibodies reactive with MM46, but not with an MM antigen-negative MM48 tumor. Among these 14 antibodies, 10 reacted also with lymph node cells of C3H.B6-i.y-6", Ly-6.2 congenie mice. The antigen defined by the 10 antibodies was provisionally ...
